The ADVANCE Series is the highest level of i-tec accessories bringing you the cutting edge technologies of products with a modern design and exclusive packaging.

This adapter enables you to connect additional Display Port monitor with 4K Ultra HD resolution up to 3840 x 2160 pixels to your computer over the USB port. With four times the pixels 4K displays provide vastly more area for working with several application windows open and visible alongside each other.
Excellent for designers, graphic designers, gamers, and other users working with more than one screen simultaneously. Using the “Extend” and “Mirror” modes you can work for example with applications on two monitors (e.g., wide spreadsheets), or you can work on the first screen and search for information on the Internet on the second screen, you can compare several documents simultaneously without constant switching among the open windows, you can display panoramic images on two screens without the need to have another computer etc.
With Plug & Play function is connection to USB 3.0 port of your computer very simple without the need for complicated installation of an internal graphic card. The adapter is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 port, but performance will likely be unsatisfactory. After installing the driver you can immediately start using the monitors without the need for restarting the computer. To a single computer you can connect up to 6 monitors and for each is required one adapter.

  • The adapter enables you to connect additional Display Port monitor with resolution up to 3840x2160 (4K Ultra HD) to your notebook / tablet / PC. To a single computer you can connect up to 6 monitors and for each is required one adapter.
  • Output: Display Port spec. 1.2. Supports resolution up to 3840x2160 @ 30Hz and 3440x1440 @ 50Hz. Resolution 2560x1600, 2560x1440 and lower operates at a refresh rate of 60Hz.
    Note: if using the DP-HDMI adapter with a 4K HDMI display, an HDMI 1.4-compliant "active" adapter must be used. Active adapters that only support HDMI 1.3, and all passive adapters will limit output to 2048x1152.
  • It allows to transfer video and stereo audio over the USB cable and DisplayPort.
  • Very simple connection with Plug & Play function through USB 3.0 port (5 Gbps). The adapter is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 port, but performance will likely be unsatisfactory.

To play UHD 4K video, the computer must be able to decode this video by its graphic processor. Especially the less powerful portable computers may be able to play 4K video, but the result is less than ideal (chopping, tearing of the video).

Question: Games do not work on OS Windows with installed DisplayLink software.
Answer: Some games have problems with starting in full screen mode or with using more monitors. Possible solution can be found here.

Question: When I close the lid, notebook fall asleep. What can I do?
Answer: Open „Control Panel“ and then set „Power Options“ – „Choose what closing the lid does“ – „When I close the lid“ – „Do nothing“.

Question: Graphic outputs don´t work after  driver update in MAC OS.
Answer: It is important to uninstall previous drivers first. Then install new version of the driver.

Question: What are the primary graphics card requirements for DisplayLink chipsets in i-tec graphic adapters and docking stations?
Answer: DisplayLink graphic chipsets are secondary displays. There currently needs to be a primary graphics card in the system. Windows Vista and later: Under windows Vista onwards, the DisplayLink graphics driver works closely with the primary graphic card. DisplayLink works with all Intel, NVidia, ATI/AMD, NVidia and VIA graphics cards. DisplayLink do not support the SiS or Matrox graphics cards.DisplayLink may not work if there are multiple graphics cards installed in the PC. DisplayLink does not support ATI crossfire or NVIDIA SLI configurations. It supports NVidia GeForce Go 6/7 Serie to version v6.2.

Question: After installation of Windows 8.1 the equipment stopped functioning. In Windows 8 it worked without problems.
Answer: Please install the most recent drivers from our website that you can find in the „Download“ tab for the given product. Windows 8.1 is supported from the DisplayLink 7.4 version.

Question: After installation of Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite the equipment stopped functioning.
Answer: Please install the most recent drivers from our website that you can find in the „Download“ tab for the given product. Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite is supported from the DisplayLink 2.3 version.

Question: I am running Mac OS X and the audio output is not working.
Answer: Currently, the drivers for Mac OS X support audio from version 10.10.x Yosemmite and higher if the device is connected to an USB 3.0 port. Audio can also be used when the device is connected to an USB 2.0 port.

Question: I have a problem with detecting the display adapter in the USB 3.0 port of my notebook / PC.
Answer: The problem may be caused by outdated drivers for the USB 3.0 port of your notebook / PC. Please read the description and download the most recent drivers for the USB 3.0 chipset in your notebook / PC and installed them according to the instructions provided. The drivers can be downloaded here.

Question: How to properly install the display adapter in Windows?
Answer: Do not connect the display adapter to the USB port of your notebook / PC until you install the drivers. You need to install the most recent drivers for the DisplayLink (for internal chipset DL-5500) that you can download here. After you have installed the drivers and connected the display adapter to the USB port of your notebook / PC the remaining drivers will be installed automatically. The control utility will be activated only after connecting the monitor.

Question: Are there drivers for Windows 8 / 8.1 32/64 bit for the display adapter available?
Answer: Yes, for the graphic part you need to install the most recent drivers for the DisplayLink (for internal chipset DL-5500) that you can download here. Do not connect the display adapter until you install these drivers. After you have installed the drivers and connected the display adapter to the USB port of your notebook / PC the remaining drivers will be installed automatically. The control utility will be activated only after connecting the monitor.

Question: I cannot achieve the maximum resolution on the monitor.
Answer: Install the latest drivers for the internal graphic card or use an older version of software from DisplayLink 7.7.M3: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads. 4K / UHD output requires 4K / UHD compatible monitor (when using a converter DP to HDMI 1.3 and lower, the resolution will be set to 2048x1152 in most cases).
